KATUNGKULAN
Even in university, Teddy Baguilat was active in governance as a student council officer. That experience spurred him on to a path of public service that he hopes to continue treading.

KAWANGGAWA
In between his terms as a public servant, Teddy Baguilat kept himself busy with his advocacies.
In 2005, he conceived of an outfit that would provide “public relations” services not to commercial companies but to non-government organizations (NGOs). The group provided training to NGOs on news writing, photojournalism, and other skills to help them popularize their grassroots efforts. This initiative put Teddy Baguilat in touch with various cause-oriented groups and their advocacies which enriched Teddy Baguilat’s views of society and his own causes.
For instance, his interaction with Save the Children influenced his support for the proposed law on positive and non-violent discipline of children. A project on disaster management shaped his support for a bill on assistance to children in disasters and calamities. Meanwhile, his work with the Save the Ifugao Terraces Movement inspired him to propose a law to adopt an Ifugao Rice Terraces Rehabilitation and Preservation Plan.
At the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020, after learning that Cordilleran farmers and craftspeople could not bring their goods to market due to quarantine measures, Teddy Baguilat organized Cordillera Landing on You, a service which transports products from the Cordilleras to consumers in urban areas. Soon, indigenous communities and farmers from other areas reached out to him for help to get their products to consumers. Teddy Baguilat, in his guise as “Captain Ri”, was only too eager to assist by looking for buyers in the cities.
Relentless indeed is his drive to uplift the lives of the disadvantaged, whether as a public servant or a private citizen.
